Meet The Owner
Hi, I'm Abby, the founder and herbalist behind Abby's Apothecary.
My passion for natural wellness began years ago when I started exploring herbalism and holistic health. What started as a personal journey quickly became something much bigger—a desire to help others feel empowered to care for themselves through thoughtfully crafted herbal products and education.
I graduated in 2022 with a degree in Holistic Health and Cannabis from American College of Healthcare Sciences. I believe understanding why you're choosing an herb is just as important as the herb itself.
Today, every tea, tincture, salve, skincare product, and botanical blend is carefully formulated in small batches right here in Maine using ingredients I genuinely believe in.
Like many small businesses, Abby's Apothecary didn't begin with a storefront or a big business plan. It started with curiosity.
I became fascinated by the healing traditions of plants and wanted to better understand how herbs have supported wellness for generations. That curiosity led me to study herbalism and holistic health, experiment with creating my own formulations, and eventually begin sharing them with friends, family, and my local community.
What began as a passion project slowly grew into something I couldn't imagine living without. Every recipe is thoughtfully formulated by me, carefully tested, and produced in small batches with a focus on quality, consistency, and ingredients I genuinely trust.
Taking the Leap
There came a point where I had to decide whether Abby's Apothecary would stay a side hobby or become my full-time focus.
I chose to take the leap.
Leaving the security of my previous jobs was both exciting and terrifying, but it gave me the opportunity to pour everything I had into building a business centered around quality, education, and genuine care for my customers.
Today, Abby's Apothecary has grown from farmers markets into retail partnerships across Maine, and I still get excited every time someone chooses one of my products.
Today, Abby's Apothecary products can be found in retail locations across Maine, at local farmers markets, workshops, and through our online shop. Watching this little business continue to grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
My Philosophy
I believe wellness isn't one-size-fits-all.
Plants have been used for generations to support everyday wellness, and I believe education is just as important as the products themselves.
Whether you're looking for a calming cup of tea, botanical skincare, CBD wellness products, or simply guidance on where to begin, my goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in your choices.
Supporting Local
One of my favorite parts of owning Abby's Apothecary is connecting with people. You'll often find me at local farmers markets, craft fairs, workshops, and community events throughout Maine. I love getting to meet customers face-to-face, answer questions, and help people discover products that fit into their wellness routines.
Giving back is also an important part of my business. Whenever I can, I partner with local organizations and fundraising events because supporting my community is just as important as serving it.
Fighting Food Insecurity – We proudly donate to Big Love One Community Food Pantry in North Berwick, helping provide food to those in need.
Helping Animals in Need – A portion of proceeds from our pet products goes toward supporting local animal shelters.
Spreading Holiday Cheer – Every Christmas, we donate to Toys for Tots or participate in Operation Santa to bring joy to children in need.
